why collagen?

Why collagen?
anti-ageing from the inside out .

·        Collagen is the most common protein found in the body. Particularly the muscles, bones joints and tissue.

·        Collagen also forms a key component of the skin, hair and nails. Collagen makes up for 90% of skin proteins - the largest organ in the body.

·        women lose collagen at a faster rate than men (1.5% -women, 2%-men every year after the age of 25) during ageing, a process which is accelerated following menopause.

proto-col collagen capsules contain Type 1 and Type 2 collagen, a natural product made  up of 18 amino acids. Our collagen is bovine collagen sourced from cow hide, therefore not suitable for vegetarians - The pure hydrolysed collagen contained in the capsules has the following properties:

·        stimulates the natural production of collagen within the body.
·        helps improve the elasticity of the skin.
·        produces noticeable signs of the skin becoming firmer with a reduction of lines and wrinkles.
·        Readily absorbed by the body because it allows protein to be bio-available and water soluble.
·        aids the repair and regeneration of ligaments, tendons, joints and bones.
·        Improves the connective tissue of the skin.
·        helps stabilise the body’s immune system and neutralise the production of abnormal molecular structures which are known to be a major cause of joint problems and stiffness.
·        Provides the raw material for cartilage to rebuild.

Collagen therefore is used for:
* joint pain.                                                 * Hair
* arthritis                                                     * skin disease
* connective tissue                                      * skin tone
* blood circulation                                      * diabetes
* fine lines and wrinkles.                            * stretch marks
* Eyesight                                                   * cellulite

Improve your mood !!

In the post-Christmas winter period, it's easy to feel sluggish, cranky and unmotivated - after all, they're called the 'winter blues' for a reason, and we still have a couple more months to go. Staying active and eating certain foods can actually help to improve your mood - but if you want to get happy, don't even think about reaching for that chocolate bar for a quick pick-me-up.

While lots of us try to improve a bad mood by eating, some foods will make us feel worse. According to Atkins nutritionist, Linda O'Byrne, the comfort foods to avoid include "sweets, white bread and cakes, which will only cause spikes and crashes in blood sugar, making you feel even more lethargic, sluggish and fed up."

Looking to improve your mood with
food? Check out O'Byrne's recommendations for five top mood-boosting foods below, which are high in 'good' fats, protein and slow-burning complex carbs.
